Today the Neopets Metaverse Team brings you a first look at the core gameplay structure of the Neopets Metaverse.

We have been diligently listening to the community’s requests for more information about the game ecosystem of the Neopets Metaverse, so, without further delay, let’s dive straight into it!

Introducing the Neopets Metaverse Core Game Loop

As you can see, our core game loop revolves around 5 key game elements:

• Neohome
• PvE Battles, Quests and Mini-Games
• PvP Battles
• Crafting
• Marketplace

Where Do I Start?

It all begins with your Neopet, in your Neohome.

Caring for your Neopet can affect its status and attributes, thus allowing it to earn experience points (XP) and eventually level up. Leveling up a Neopet will make it more battle-ready and ready for action!

Your Neopet will also be able to have social engagements with other Neopets. This will consist of players visiting each other’s Neohomes and participating in other social activities (we will cover more details about this at a later stage).

In essence, the Neohome is where you will empower and enrich your Neopet’s status, attributes, and experience levels to prepare you for the open world of Neopia, which consists of:

PvE Battles/Quests/Mini-Games

• Battle the computer, complete quests, or play a variety of mini-games to earn tokens and resources.

PvP Battles

• Battle other players to earn tokens.

What Can I Do With Resources/Tokens?

• Resources and tokens will be used to craft consumables such as food, potions, and NFTs (in the form of cosmetics, equipment, and furniture)
• You can additionally earn tokens by selling the NFTs that you have crafted.
• Tokens can also be used to purchase NFTs that you can equip your Neopets with or decorate your Neohome.
• Whether through crafting or purchasing at the marketplace, the items you acquire for your Neohome will further enhance your ability to level up your Neopet.

Tying It All Together

The journey begins with you and your Neopet in your Neohome. You’ll care for and engage with your Neopet to help it level up and boost its abilities. Leveling up will increase its capability and capacity to engage in PvP and PvE battles, go on quests, and play mini-games. These activities will either reward resources or tokens. These can be used to craft into various items, including NFTs that can be traded on the marketplace. All of this will culminate in your increased ability to level up your Neopet and deck out your Neohome, thus completing the gameplay loop.

Final Thoughts

Our goal has remained simple throughout our entire development process: become a leading player in the virtual pet Metaverse space by reconceiving the original 2D Neopets browser-based concept as a 3D free-to-play, play-and-earn game. The foundational mentality of the Neopets Metaverse is to inspire brand new experiences that appeal to both Neopets aficionados and newcomers alike; in short, our vision is to translate the proven, highly revered IP of Neopets into a Web3 model. The core game loop is the system that will facilitate this process.
