Meet the Neopets Metaverse Team: Peter— Product Manager
Q: Could you please introduce yourself to the community? Tell us about your role and what you do?
Hello. I’m Peter, Product Manager at Neopets Metaverse. I’m usually involved with product planning and design, including game and token design. I do my best to ensure a well-liked Neopets Metaverse while maintaining a healthy balance between business and user values.
Q: Can you tell us about your background and what brought you to Neopets?
I’m an information engineer by training, specializing in signal and image processing. Currently, I’m a technology consultant and product designer. I used to be involved in educational game and content design for kids. With my technical background and product design experience, moving on to Neopets Metaverse seemed an interesting challenge to combine a well-known brand, fun, free-to-play, tokenomics and blockchain elements (item ownership beyond the game).
Q: What do you find exciting about the Metaverse?
Plenty of opportunities to develop new stuff.
Q: What are you looking forward to the most at Neopets Metaverse?
An alternative Neopia with new adventures!
Q: What advice would you give to someone that would be interested in working in the metaverse?
Be passionate about building a free and inclusive online game and platform, with all kinds of users in mind.
Q: What’s your favorite video game of all time?
A: Hard to pick one, but probably a JRPG. Maybe FFXII, FFX, FFVIII, FFVI, or the Crowlanser series to name a few.
Q: How do you like to spend your free time?
A: I like watching anime, playing video games, composing music — until you realize you should spend more time with your family.
Q: Are you a dog person or a cat person?
A: Can I say an Eyrie person? I guess that leans towards cats.
Q: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
A: I wish I could answer this question well, but I think I’m pretty content with what I have today. Like they said, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’
Q: Neopets Metaverse is a global project with a multinational team, tell us where you’re from and what part of the globe are you in?
A: I’m currently in Hong Kong, although I used to live in the UK, so you will probably see me asserting British English spellings and grammar here and there.
