Our team works every day, putting incredible effort into bringing the Neopets Metaverse vision to life. Up next in our #MeettheTeam Series and setting up a personal interview with Ash, our Growth Lead. We are excited to share her story today!
Q: Could you please introduce yourself to the community? Tell us about your role and what you do?
Hi! Ash here. I’m the Head of Growth at Neopets Metaverse. As the title implies, my job is to ensure the company expands in the right direction.
Q: Can you tell us about your background and what brought you to Neopets?
Well, you can call me a Web3 native as I dove right into crypto back in college and have never looked back — easily the best decision of my life! I’ve been around GameFi since its early days, having scaled, built, and sold some of my older projects, as well as consulting for several successful ones.
I joined Neopets Metaverse in mid-2022, but boy, with all the work we’ve been churning out since, it feels like a lifetime ago! I’m incredibly excited about Neopets’ massive leap into the Metaverse as it’s basically one of the most OG projects since Web1 days.
Q: What do you find exciting about the Metaverse?
For me, the Metaverse represents a fundamental shift in the meaning of human experience. Just as how the internet has radically changed the way we engage with content and deal with everyday life, I believe the Metaverse will be revolutionary in the future.
Q: What are you looking forward to the most at Neopets Metaverse?
Being a part of its incredible start, I’m stoked to witness how it’ll continue to scale, take over the space, and finish with a bang. Plus, I’m thrilled with the game’s development which is coming along nicely. I can’t wait for its release and have the community to enjoy the fruits of our labor.
Q: What advice would you give to someone that would be interested in working in the metaverse?
Since the space is pretty new, making it isn’t really about qualifications or experience. As long as you’re willing to learn, ready to test new things, find solutions, and, most importantly, keen to innovate, then Web3 might be perfect for you!
Q: What’s your favorite video game of all time?
Tough one. Hmmm… Let’s see. When I was younger, I adored Neopets so much. In fact, I won’t even deny that I was obsessed with it! Bet my 1 self would be blown away if she knew what I’m working on right now. Hehe. Oh, I also loved Club Penguin and Pets on Nintendo.
Q: Neopets Metaverse is a global project with a multinational team, tell us where you’re from and what part of the globe are you in?
A: I’m from Hong Kong!
